Powerline Exclusion zones
Everyday workers are at risk when in proximity of powerlines. While plant operators concentrate on the task at hand it is easy to neglect live powerlines overhead. Machinery entering an exclusion zone can be at risk of contact with energised electric lines. If you are working on scaffold, using a concrete pump, crane, EWP, excavator, pile drilling or tree pruning around Brisbane, Gold Coast, Ipswich or even the Sunshine coast, you might need an Energex Authorised Person. Did you know that workers and plant are required to maintain an 'exclusion zone' of 3 metres around live overhead power lines of up to 132kV? Greater 'exclusion zones' apply to higher voltage lines (6 and 8 metres depending on the voltage).
